Advanced Propulsion Centre — Electric Vehicle Supply Chain

The UK is targeting that every new car manufactured will be zero emissions from 2040. In order to support the significant scale up required in Hybrid, Plug in Hybrid and Battery Electric Vehicle manufacturing, the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is working with industry and government to support the development of the Electric Vehicle Supply Chain. The Electrification Supply Chain (ESC) programme aims to engage supply partners at all levels of the Supply Chain and to deliver toolkits which will act as a ​‘one stop shop’, connecting everyone from Vehicle Manufacturers to materials producers in the UK. The toolkit will also identify research projects which are underway or have been completed in this area so that companies looking to develop EV capabilities can access and leverage what has already been done to identify and build future collaborations. In addition to supporting commercial entities to develop their business today, the ESC programme will help inform the UK Government where the most significant opportunities to develop the supply chain lie and what tools we may need to do this. Is your organisation interested or already involved in the EV supply chain? If so, the APC would like to involve you in this initiative. The first three events in this series have ​‘sold out’ and we have had huge interest from the industry as well as academics. The two last ESC workshops will take place in Sunderland on Wednesday 31^st May 2017, and London on Thursday 22^nd June 2017. Please join us on Wednesday 31^st May from 9:30am to 2:00pm at the North East Automotive Alliance c/​o RTC North Ltd, Loftus House, Colima Avenue, Sunderland Enterprise Park, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, SR5 3XB. Alternatively, please join us on Thursday 22^nd June from 1:00pm to 4:30pm at the SMMT, 71 Great Peter Street, London SW1P 2BN. During these events, you will hear the Automotive Council view on the future EV supply chain requirements, capabilities and the EV strategy for the UK. You will also have the opportunity to help shape the toolkits we use to build an end to end supply chain capable of delivering the maximum UK content in the powertrains of the future. Finally, networking opportunities will allow time to meet potential commercial partners and the APC in person.
