University of Manchester Vacancy — Research Associate in Organic Electronics
A Research Associate position is available immediately in the Organic Materials Innovation Centre (OMIC), University of Manchester to support the work of the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Large Area Electronics. You will formulate inks from organic semiconductors, and in particular conjugated polymers, and use these inks to deposit patterned thin films of these materials in OFET devices. It will appeal to someone with a background in organic electronics; ink formulation, thin film characterisation and the application of organic semiconductors in OFET based sensors. You must have a strong research track record, expertise in the defined areas, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and preferably experience in working on large projects. OMIC (www.omic.org.uk) is a key member of the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Large Area Electronics. This is a partnership uniting OMIC with the CIKC at the University of Cambridge, the Centre for Plastic Electronics at Imperial College and the Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating at the University of Swansea to understand the manufacturing challenges involved in the commercialisation of Large Area Electronics.
