University of Liverpool Professor recognised in King’s Birthday Honours
Professor Matt Rosseinsky, from the Department of Chemistry and Materials Innovation Factory, has been awarded an OBE for services to materials chemistry research and innovation.

A Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, Matt Rosseinsky is a globally recognised expert in materials chemistry. He has received national and international prizes including the Davy Medal, the Hughes Medal, the Basolo Medal of the American Chemical Society and the 2023 Eni Energy Frontiers Award.
He and his research team have developed a next generation approach to materials discovery that fuses digital tools with scientific insight to accelerate the design of new materials for applications spanning energy and information storage to catalysis.
Professor Rosseinsky said: “I am grateful for this award, which recognises the efforts of my team, my colleagues at Liverpool and our academic and industrial partners in the UK and beyond.
